USD Toreros Baseball Clinic

President's Day Clinic Hosted by USD Torero Players and Coaches at Fowler Park

For this Pre-Season Clinic, the USD Coaches and Players will conduct an age-appropriate clinic with multiple stations for small group activities with a focus on baseball fundamentals and individual instruction. In preparation for season, players will work on the basics of warm-ups, throwing, fielding, base running, hitting and for the more advanced players – pitching and catching.

2018 Bat Rule Change

Effective Jan 1, 2018

Some key highlights:

  • All bats,  starting with the Spring 2018 season will require a USA Baseball certification stamp. The only exception is -3 rated bat, this will need to be (BBCOR certified).  All other minus factor bats (-5,-7,-9,-10 etc.) must have the USA Baseball cerfication stamp.
  • All CURRENT aluminum/composite bats will be illegal for Pony Baseball League and Tournament play starting in the Spring 2018 season.
  • New USA  Baseball certified bats will be available for retail sale September 1st, 2017.  THESE ARE THE ONLY BATS APPROVED FOR PONY BASEBALL STARTING JANUARY 1st, 2018.
  • The intention is to standardize on a performance index for youth bats that mimics the performance of a wood bat.

Congratulations to our 8U West Zone World Series Champs!!!
